| Image shows one of the external micropositioners. These allow 25 mm travel with 10 micron resolution in X, Y, Z direction. Adjustment is for all three directions micrometer controlled. By taking note of the probe tip location before closing the vacuum chamber you will always have the current tip position.
Window on top of vacuum chamber. | One of the semi flexible vacuum bellows connecting the positioner to the vacuum chamber. As temperature changes they allow the chamber to contract or expand freely.

Here is the chuck area of the cryogenic probing system with 4 position COAX probe holders.
| High quality zoom lens with 0.7 to 4.5x range, manual version shown, also available motorized with DC motor or stepper motor with Hall Effect sensor feedback. Coaxial illumination unit, manual or motorized versions. Illumination by fiberoptic light guide and light source with continously adjustable intensity, optionally motorized.

| Olympus Stereo Zoom microscope with COAX illunmination unit gives a large field of view. A scope stage with 1" (25 mm) X-Y adjustment lets you center your field of view to next tip area once the 1st tip is properly located.
Alternative microsc ope solution: Meiji Techno EMZ-13VX BINOCULAR Stereo Zoom
| Microscope, complete with 20X eyepieces (MA504), FL150/115 light source, FL150/30 light pipe, and MA978 quarter wave plate
|
The EMZ-13VX with coaxial vertical fiber optic illuminator is used when observing flat, highly reflective specimens such as integrated circuits, semiconductors, wafers, polished metal specimens, solder balls, or magnetic recording heads. The integrated fiber optic bundle mounts in the back of the EMZ-13VX through a specially designed dual port that directs light from a 150W halogen light source. Total magnification is 70X with 10X or 140X with 20X eyepieces. A ¼ wave plate is required when using the coaxial vertical illuminator to view reflective specimens. It is attached to the bottom of the objective and is rotated to achieve the desired effect. Auxiliary lenses cannot be used in conjunction with the quarter wave plate. |
